What would you do if Destiny showed up
Unexpectedly
Unnanounced
Knocking on the screen door of your soul

Would you ignore her?
Pretend you're not home?
Ask her to leave?
Or would you invite her in
And feel your soul explode into particles of ecstasy
Annihilating all that had the misfortune
Of being within its perimeter

Would you choose the safety and comfort
Of a life in the throes of monotonous quiet desperation?
Or would you choose the hot, electric charge
That only comes from wrapping everything you are
Around the thing that not only dances with you
But within you?

And if Destiny walked up to you in front of everyone
And kissed you on the mouth...
Would you have the guts to kiss her back?
